I’ve had a few debates this week with inanimate objects and icons… in real life. One of them (@acatinatree) suggested that she had a more ‘real’ experience online by creating a fake avatar to hide behind. I thought this was quite interesting. She blogged about it.

She does have a point – I just disagree.

So I thought – in the spirit of #followfriday – that I’d put together a list of people like @acatinatree that I believe are actually worth following on Twitter. Not all are completely anonymous in avatar and name but they do come close.

I think these guys (plural?) are Melbournian creative types. Juniors. I like that they’re having a go – didn’t even need a brief! Cool site too.

Binh is behind the massive Huggies online community. Has worked at Tribal DDB, STW360. Bit quiet on Twitter but she’s one to watch.

9. Sudeep Gohil @sudeepgohil (143 followers)
Sudeep’s the Planning Director at Droga 5. He’s an Aussie but had a prolific tenure in the States at W+K. Great to see him on Twitter and evangelising it to his ‘more seasoned’ industry friends.

Mark’s based in Hong Kong and has some posh job title like ‘Head Digitalisationer’ for MRM. But despite his posh title, is a pretty down to earth, interesting guy.

14. James Drewe @jamesdrewe (55 followers)
Another Brisbane-ite that I don’t know and actually only stumbled across as I was writing this post. He blogs and is a jazz musician on top of digital marketing stuff. Cool.

16. Aaron Michie @ordnung (75 followers)
I used to sit next to this crazy New Zealander. He’s currently head digital strategeriser at BMF.

(bonus addition) 17. Tarnya Baohm @TarnyaBaohm (126 followers)
Tarnya rightly pointed out to me (after this post went live) that she, too, is a future superstar. My bad. Tarnya is the digital marketing manager at RaboPlus. I missed her the first time because I hadn’t seen her getting busy but turns out she’s been Twitterating quite a bit.
