Free Twitter session Sydney CBD: Thurs 23rd April 2009

As promised, and with huge thanks to Kelly Tall and The Leading Edge, I have details for the first free Twitter session in Sydney. There are 30 spaces available.
Please read the details below if you’d like to attend.

What to expect:
A 40-minute overview of Twitter – for personal use.
I’ll break the content down into these sections:

1. Why so many of us think it’s good
2. How to get started
3. How to find momentum and rhythm
4. How it can impact your real life
5. Tools to enjoy it with

Questions can be asked along the way.
I’ll really just go over how I use and enjoy it. I won’t be evangelising it.

What not to expect:
There will be absolutely no selling. No corporate or personal URLs (just links to useful stuff), no logos, no company messages, nothing. I’m not selling myself; the Leading Edge are offering their venue as a gesture of goodwill. A few people have found this weird but I think that says more about our society than it does about me. After doing community radio and writing for street press for years, I believe in the power of free and being the change I want to see in the world… (ie a more helpful, friendly place).

Event details:
Date: Thursday 23rd April
Time: 6:30pm
Location: The Leading Edge
Level 2, Pier 8/9,23 Hickson Road
Millers Point NSW 2000, Australia

How to RSVP: there are 30 places available
Please send an email to events  @  theleadingedge.com (remove spaces either side of the @) with your name and Twitter username (if you have one).

I’ll update this post if the places go and work out another option for everyone else.

Big thanks to Kelly Tall and The Leading Edge!

  • You know I'll be there, but check out the comment hype you're getting on on #beachmeet by Mark agency! Seems a pretty universal condemnation of the beachmeet and universal praise for your Twitter sessions. Prepare for a spike in RSVPs!

Oh yeah, just to plug my plug, I protested your exclusion from Julian Cole's blog on , with which he agreed.
