Enjoy.
1. Korean Bokko Dancing
Koreans love anything where a group of people do the same thing at the same time. At the Sydney Olympics they had crowd organisers whose role it was to give out things to wave and then coordinate everyone to wave them simultaneously. With that in mind, Bokko makes complete sense. (55,111 views)
2. Shuffling
I only stumbled across shuffling on Australia Day this year – at Darling Harbour. A bunch of kids were doing it together and filming it. Then I saw it 2 weeks ago also at Darling Harbour. It was weird. Not so much the dance because it reminded me of the stuff I saw at raves in early 90s but that groups of young guys were doing it together. Cool, I guess. This Melbourne Shuffle compilation video has almost 8 million views.
3. Jumpstyle
This style makes sense coming out of The Netherlands (I think). Holland was home to some raw doof-doof in the 90s. What’s weird is seeing this clip in a basic suburban home rather than some decrepit rave scene. 23,767,778 views. Can you believe it?
4. Spongebob Dance
Ah, Spongebob. Now, why didn’t I think of this one? This clip starts a bit slowly but you can see how it could be fun to do. Now, where’s the Wiggles Dance? 1,330,854 views.
5. Krumping
Yeh, I’ll say it. I’m a massive fan of krumping. It’s so raw and unadulterated. When someone does this style with incredible sharpness and agression… Coooo-eeee! 1,878,107 views.
6. Popping vs Krumping
This is a wicked clip that splices popping and krumping together. 1,626,577 views.
7. Tektonic
I’m not a massive fan of this but 14,456,562 other people are.
8. C-Walk (Crip Walk)
Yeaaaah! The Crip Walk. I do this one when good things happen. 12,836,691 views.
9. Hand-dancing
You’ve all seen these. But, in case you haven’t…
Fingers only! 1,385,425 views.
10. Put a donk on it
Alright, not a dance style but worth checking out anyway. Put a bangin’ donk on it. Blackout Crew. Courtesy of Sudeep Gohil.
